Michael H - Paraphrase x3

"People may emit flirtatious cues and not be fully aware of how powerful they are."
paragraph 6 of Luscombe's article

1) People sometimes unintentionally display very flirtatious behavior.
2) People may read another person to be very interested, when in fact, they are not.
3) People may smile to be polite, but others could read it as possible interest.

Thesis - "those individuals who executed flirting maneuvers most adeptly were more successful in swiftly finding a mate and reproducing and that the behavior therefore became widespread in all humans"

Free write - It seems that the act of flirting might not have been something that came naturally to every person in history; not every human being was able to flirt. The behavior of flirting has been passed down through the ages through natural selection. Those who were not able to flirt were not able to reproduce, and therefore they could not pass down this inability to flirt.
