Drew Stone- Primary Source 1
My first primary source is a commercial that was played during Super bowl 44 where Tim Tebow's mom talks against abortion. In the commercial Tim Tebow's mother Pam talks about her own decision that she had when being pregnant with Tim. She talks about how close she was to loosing Tim and not having born at all. Pam then goes on to say that she is glad about her decision to give birth. Tim is her miracle baby and she says she still worries about his health today. This is a arguemental advertisement because as we all know abortion has been controversial topic for many years. Abortion is legal in all states but not available in every state. Many people, including the Tebow family think that abortion is wrong and immoral.

I think that this ad has a good message behind it, but I think it conveyed very well. At first, I was not sure what she was talking about. It was not till later that I figured out she was talking about abortion. Since abortion is so controversial, no one is ever going to agree on it and some will not even accpet the other arguement.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Beth that the message wasn't conveyed very well. I would have had no idea the ad was about abortion unless you had told me so. Abortion is a very controversial topic and has been for some time. Lately, with the rate of teen pregnancy going up, abortion has been being considered more. It is a topic that will always be controversial. Some will have reasons why it is a good option while others will have reasons why its wrong. The two will never reach a consensus on the issue.
