Bollinger- paraphrase x 3

"And one of the most exhilarating things about the game is that the normal rules of social interaction are rubberized."

An interesting aspect of human flirtation is that the general guidlines of conversation are varied.

Something that stands out in observing human activity is that typical social behavior is different in flirting situations.

The way people act when they are said to be flirting, may differ from the manner in which someone would typically behave.

This observation implies that men and women alike, whether single or married, tend to act differently when conversing with an attractive person of the opposite sex. This observation matters because it is something that happens quite often in today's society and note should be taken of it. I don't know that this observation really "gets us" anywhere, it is more just an interesting observation of note. We can theorize that this observation is implying that people will behave differently when they are around an attractive person of the opposite sex.

Thesis: Single people flirt because, well, they're single and therefore nobody is really contractually obliged to talk to them, sleep with them or scratch that difficult-to-reach part of the back.
