Individual Post-Molly

Prompt 3: From this advertisement you can tell alot about the author. The first thing to note is that the author is most likely heterosexual and male. He portrays the heterosexual male fantacy of millions of women running to you very well. We can assume that he believes all heterosexual men would enjoy to be swarmed by millions of "attractive" women. We can also assume that the type of woman he likes is a tall, thin, white woman (which is the "ideal" woman in this ad). Another thing that I got from this advertisement is that the author thinks underneath all of the polite societal talk that we make, we are all barbaric, especially women in this case. In the end all of us (the human race) would do anything to get what we want, which in this ad is the man spraying axe.

When you are the author or creator of a paper, an ad, a commercial, a movie, or anything really, it is hard not to invoke your opinions, education or experience into the peice you are writing. Opinion not only makes writing more interesting, but it also gives the text an argument. It is possible for this to backfire onto the writer however. For example, if the author is cocky or arrogant in the way they portray their views, the reader of their text could be offended and argue the opposite view from the author.
